For the first time in Winter League history, the game ended in a shootout. Both teams fought hard all game long, played great defense, and competed for the title. In the end, the Vikings were able to get it done in the shootout! Congratulations to both squads as they move into the spring.
In another thrilling rivalry game for a title, the Preppers were able to come out and avenge an early season loss to the Tigers. Both teams showed lots of grit, determination, & effort. This is one of the classic area rivalries that keeps getting better with each matchup. Great job boys!
To close out the Group Finals, the Wings were able to continue their tough defense by shutting down the Knights and holding them to just 2 goals. The boys from Wadsworth & Shaker united under the Wings banner to claim the group 3 crown. Good luck to the Knights and Wings players as they move on to the spring.
Another rivalry game that got settled quickly in the box. The Wildcats were just too much for a roster depleted Explorers squad. Coach Bernlohr has a talented squad who will be ready to go in March. Coach Schwind & co will get things rolling soon with a talented roster. Good luck to both teams.
It was a great day to be a Bomber as both teams claimed W's. This game was back and forth, but the boys from Kenston were able to pull it out in the 3rd and hang on against a feisty team from Walsh. Both teams worked really hard all winter and showed a lot of growth. Good luck to the Bombers and Warriors this spring.
The Bees were able to get a lot of playing time this week as the Griffins, playing with just a handful of players, tried to make it a contest. Both groups of boys fought hard, showed some great plays, and eventually wrapped up the winter season with a 1 goal game. Good luck to both groups as they move on to spring.
The young Bombers came out and played a hard nosed game and took it to the Vikings by beating them 6-3 in the season finale. We look forward to seeing all the development and progress of both teams as they move into their spring seasons. Good luck!
The young Explorers look to have a bright future as they stayed unbeaten and took it to the junior Polar Bears. Both teams made huge strides during the winter and should be well conditioned for the start of the spring. Good luck to both squads!
